The chemical bridge that is formed between NYCO wollastonite and our customers’ resin systems provides enhanced mechanical properties, corrosion and blister resistance, and improved surface properties among a number of other benefits.
Chemical modification can also aid in a variety of production processes, permitting higher filler loadings and improving dispersion, powder flow characteristics, and flow during mixing and molding in compounding systems. NYCO is even equipped to bond two chemicals to the surface of wollastonite to meet a customer’s needs for increased strength and better dispersion with a single additive.
New developments are underway to create the next generation of chemical modifications. These will offer continued enhancements in handling and processing and provide improved resistance to cold temperature impacts among other physical benefits.
